about

If we are lucky, at least once in life, the ego and its fantasies, our daylight consciousness and habitual personas, will be challenged, deconstructed, and transformed. The ancient Sumerian myths of the Goddess Inanna are among most beautiful and useful stories that I know for such times; useful as a description of life’s journey, and for images of the divine and our necessary initiations.

In the first 4 tracks on this album, I tell the myths of Inanna: her development as a goddess and her descent to the underworld, and her relationship to her husband, Dumuzi. In the final track, I share some of my reflections and process with this story. The myths are interesting and can be enjoyed for their beauty, but if you want to work with them and find the patterns in your own life, you may find the suggestions and information included in the final track helpful.

Enjoy these beautiful stories, and keep the mystery in your life alive…
